Canon Events: Musical Puzzles, Games, and Curiosities

Celebrating the playful side of medieval music, this program highlights clever compositional techniques, many of which are still employed by composers today. Songs shaped around acrostic poetry, hocket, puns, and canons draw audiences in with their complex and momentum-driven forms. Due to the intricate nature of the program, we present this concert with a chamber-sized ensemble of six.
